Amazon FBA pallet requirements
These are the core rules the calculator validates for every inbound FBA pallet shipment. Break one and the fulfillment center can refuse delivery.
GMA pallet size
Use a standard 40 x 48 inch four-way wooden GMA pallet in good condition. Plastic pallets are accepted for some programs.
Maximum height
Total stacked height, including the pallet, must not exceed 72 inches for standard stacked pallet shipments.
Weight limit
Each pallet, including its own weight, must stay at or under 1,500 lb or it will be rejected.
Overhang
Cases may extend no more than 1 inch past the pallet edge on any side to avoid crush and damage.
Pallet ID labels
Place one pallet ID label on the top center of each of the four sides so it scans from any direction.
Stretch film
Shrink-wrap the load in clear (not colored or opaque) stretch film so labels and contents stay visible.

FBA pallet shipping checklist
Run through this before you close out your inbound shipment in Seller Central.
- Single-SKU per pallet where possible — keep each pallet to one SKU unless your shipment explicitly allows mixed pallets.
- Height at or under 72″ — measure from the floor to the top of the load, pallet included.
- Weight at or under 1,500 lb — weigh the finished pallet, not just the cartons.
- Overhang under 1″ — align cases to the pallet footprint on all four sides.
- Four pallet ID labels — one on the top-center of each side, applied over the stretch wrap.
- Clear stretch wrap — wrap securely to the pallet base; no colored or opaque film.
- Stable stacking — heavier cases on the bottom, interlocked layers, no leaning stacks.

What are Amazon FBA pallet requirements?

What is the maximum height for an FBA pallet?
Standard FBA pallets are limited to 72 inches total height including the pallet. Some non-stackable single-pallet shipments may go taller, but 72 inches is the safe target for stacked and most SPD pallet shipments.
What is the FBA pallet weight limit?
Each pallet may weigh up to 1,500 lb including the pallet itself. Overweight pallets are refused at the fulfillment center, so the calculator warns you before you ship.
How much overhang does Amazon allow?
No more than 1 inch of overhang on any side. Anything beyond that risks crush damage and rejection, so any layout that pushes cases past the footprint is flagged.
How many labels does an FBA pallet need?
Four pallet ID labels, one on the top center of each of the four sides, so the label scans no matter which way the pallet faces.
